Inaugural Pop-Up Art Exhibition and Create Collect's company launch event during Miami Art Basel 2013. The pop-up art show housed more than 150 unique creations spread over 3,000 square feet of raw gallery space in the Wynwood Arts District in Miami.
My responsibilities included the lighting design, the technical direction and acting as head electrician. The truss/art lighting system was brought in specifically for the pop-up show and launch event, in order to display the unique nature of the creators art work gathered by Create Collect. A unique challenge for me was intelligently lighting different types and sizes of art setup within very close proximity of each other. Below is a diagram of the type of fixtures and lighting effects used with different kinds of art.
The architectural drawing made for this project helped the client Laura Cartagena from Create Collect understand what I had envisioned for the show for lighting design. The rendered section clearly shows how the different types of art will be lit.
