The hand building technique used in this work was learned and practiced during a workshop led by renowned Korean artist and ceramicist Yoonjee Kwak at Gasworks Studio in Brooklyn.
The glaze colors, transitions and effects used mimic the subtle colors of the landscape it's placed in. I strive to capture the quiet moments of transformation found in nature, moments of erosion, growth, and decay that speak to the transient beauty of the world around us.
